Friedman Memorial Airport | SUN

Sun Valley is served by Hailey’s Friedman Memorial Airport (SUN). It’s located 14 miles from the resort and is easily accessible from the gateway cities of San Francisco (SFO), Seattle (SEA), Los Angeles (LAX), and Salt Lake City (SLC). These cities are served by most major airlines and are met by Sun Valley’s two connecting carriers: Alaska Airlines (Horizon Air) and SkyWest (United Express/Delta Connection. The resort offers a free shuttle from the airport to the Sun Valley Inn.


Sun Valley Resort offers a complimentary guest resort shuttle for transportation to/from Friedman Memorial Airport and the Sun Valley Resort. Simply contact the resort at 208-622-2097 and schedule a ride based on your arrival and departure times.

Boise Airport | BOI

The Boise Airport is located approximately 150 miles from Sun Valley Resort. Conference attendees can rent a car at the Boise airport or book a ride on the daily shuttle service between Boise Airport (BOI) and the Sun Valley Lodge via Sun Valley Express.


There is a daily shuttle service between Boise Airport (BOI) and the Sun Valley Lodge called Sun Valley Express. Advance tickets may be purchased by calling Sun Valley Express at (877) 622-8267 / (208) 622-8267 or going online to Tickets also may be purchased on the bus at time of departure on a space available basis.

Twin Falls Airport | TWF

The Magic Valley Regional Airport Is located approximately 85 miles from Su Valley Resort. Conference attendees can rent a car at the airport and proceed to Sun Valley.

Around Sun Valley

Sun Valley is a complete walking village, where automobiles are unnecessary. Condominium units are located within easy walking distance of the Sun Valley Village, but complimentary bus service is also available. The Mountain Rides Transportation Authority system provides free transportation throughout the Wood River Valley, including continuous round trips from the Village to both Dollar and Bald Mountains and to the town of Ketchum and Elkhorn Springs.


There is no dress code for FoodOvation or Sun Valley Resort. We want you to be comfortable. Some people wear jeans and a pull-over while others wear shorts and sandals.
All necessary equipment for the activities will be provided. You do not need to bring anything with you.
If you know an industry operator or supplier who would be interested in attending FoodOvation, please let us know. We would be happy to extend an invitation for you.
Sun Valley in October is beautiful; however, the weather is pretty unpredictable. The daytime highs can range anywhere from high 30’s to mid 60’s and evening lows are generally in the 20s. Hopefully there will be sun but there might be snow. Please check the weather forecast for details the week before arrival and bring a warm coat just in case!
Yes, significant others are welcome and encouraged to join! There is no additional cost for significant others to attend.
